Well I can say first hand, considering I am the Chris in the story, that they will drag it out as long as they can to discourage you from continuing on with the lawsuit

something similar just happened to me, but at a Brann's in Michigan. They fried mozzarella cheese sticks in the same oil as their shrimp & other fish/seafood. They did not have a warning posted regarding so. When I contacted the store location the manager acted like it was no big deal & that their policy was to fry everything together. He also said he had been there for 10 years and never had such a complaint. I contacted the corportate office looking for medical reimbursement and they told me no. Offered me an 8 oz steak girf certificate and said "If I am that allergic, I should ask". I am considering contacting a lawyer, but not sure if I have a case.
